"We're going to have…": Marilla's planned menu is labor-intensive but smart. All but the biscuits would be made ahead of time, and she would probably time the biscuits to come out of the oven just upon the arrival of the Allans. Their tea table would be full, but there would be no need to cook (i.e., leave the conversation for the kitchen) while the guests are there.
